The Heart of the Myst

The Heart of the Myst, (the Five Elements once within), is the first Mystic item and entity created by the unliving hands of the Myst and designed by Third. It is believed to be the sustaining force for Aesor and the core of all life in the Myst. This is why it was highly desired by the Idolons and why the Scionic Wars started. It is also the reason why the Scions of Vals are attempting to obtain the Heart of the Myst from Kalzamaath today.

Origins

According to Scionic tales, the sole purpose and reason for the Myst's existence was creation. To achieve this, the Myst had to birth and rely on sentient beings and their respective purposes to balance and create together. These beings, known as Idolons, with Third equipped with the Five Elements, represented the means of this process, in the form of one and only power, the Power of Creation (= Five Elements).   The origin and power of the Myst remain unknown and incomprehensible to all. However, numerous academics speculate that the Myst harnessed the power of a forgotten Marcritic Anchor, which served as the precursor to the Néero known in the present day. This is merely a conjecture, but one thing is definite - the Myst could not have utilized Eion, as it did not exist at that time, prior to the emergence of the Idolons. Perhaps the Myst's Anchor was actually the kindred-Anchor of Néero rather than its creator, leading us to a very interesting question. If Néero is the Anchor of the Power of Naught, then the forgotten Anchor, must be the Power of Reality, the Anchor of all life and the marcritic essence of the Myst itself.     However, continuing with its origins, the Heart of the Myst was never the true design of the Myst. The Myst only defined the power it gave to Third, not how it was contained. This means that when the Power of Creation was born, the Myst created the three Idolons and gave the power to Third. Being inspired by the Myst’s purpose and Third’s own meaning of existence, the Idolon created the Heart of the Myst. This heart supposedly resembled a “draconic” heart and was the true essence of the Myst.   In simpler terms, according to Scionic stories, the Myst sacrificed its own core being to give life a chance, which is why Third was inspired to make it a heart (even though it actually was a heart). This is also why it became what it was before the Óhin's Awakening. Third, according to his own intelligent design ideas, contained this condensed power and created Eionic rules that the Heart, as well as all of its contents (the Five Elements), had to adhere to in order to exist. This law of Third is what eventually transformed into the Nh’áhrean (Mother Nature) that we are familiar with today.   The Heart of the Myst had been fully completed and was ready for use. However, history had shown that the Myst's calculations were incorrect, and no individual was capable of using it without triggering a war between them and another entity. This applied to both to the purposeful Idolons and the godly Scions. The desire for personal gain and power, among other factors, disrupted any possibility of peaceful utilization of the Heart's powers indefinitely.   After the destruction of both Haeis and Vals by Third, the Heart was left for those that came after them, and born from their remnants, the Scions. The Scions of Vals, originating from the void, corrupted stars and shadow of the Myst, started to outnumber their adversaries. However, the Scions of Haeis managed to seize the Heart before them, thus initiating the Scionic Wars.   The Scions of Haeis had been protecting the Heart of the Myst for millions of years, refraining from using its power because they thought it was too immense for them to hastily decide how to utilize it. They lacked trust both in the Scions of Vals and their own ability to make the right choices with it. They held the belief that the war-torn environment was unsuitable for the creation genuine life, thus they opted to protect the Heart against the Scions of Vals until they achieved triumph or perished in the attempt.   The Heart was responsible for providing structure, system, and order to the existence of the Myst. However, over time, the Scions of Haeis began losing the war at a rapid pace. Each year, their defensive line weakened as the relentless attacks from the Scions of Shadow took advantage of their increasing numbers. The Scions of Radiance were unable to match the growing fighting force of their enemy. As a result, the Scions of Shadow approached the Heart of the Myst. Eventually, a skilled and agile Scion named Iln-Har’xe managed to bypass the struggling Scions of Haeis and successfully remove the Heart of the Myst from the center of the torus, resulting in a crack in the reality of the Myst.   The Archavast was born, but Iln-Har’xe was unable to bring the Heart with her into the Archavast. According to the tales, the Archavast rejected the Heart because it was designed by Third to always remain imprisoned in the reality of Myst. At that moment, Kyro, a legendary Scion of Haeis, saw that the Heart remained undamaged despite Har’xe's attempt. Surrounded by enemies, Kyro took a leap of faith and jumped into an unhatched star of Radiance, holding the Heart in his hands. Arzien, a Scion of Vals, fought with Kyro until they both fell into the burning star. Devoured by the radiant inferno and consumed by the Heart of the Myst, the essence of Kyro and Arizen merged into one and turned into an eternal battle, representing both Shadow and Radiance within the Heart, creating something that the Myst had never seen before, the Shattered Light.

The Heart on Aesor

The newly birthed Kalzamaath, with the Heart in his broken star, willingly gave himself to the immense powers it bestowed upon his birth. This is how the Óhin came into existence as the sole being of its type, as the Scion of the Five Elements.   According to the legends of the Taleteller, Kalzamaath shattered the Heart and reforged it into the Aeos Parure, also known as the Sovereign Stones. The Óhin scattered them across Aesor, with their exact whereabouts unknown to everyone. The benefit of the Aeos Parure is that on their own, separated without being purposefully re-designed to be weak (in this case in the form of Stones), the Five Elements would literally tear Aesor apart. Even in this way, Third's law, known today as the Nh'áhrean, operates continuously to maintain balance among the elements within Aesor, acting as their container. Without the Heart's (in the current case, Aesor’s) confinement, the elements could potentially develop into separate entities. However, the Nh'áhrean and Aesor as the sole container prevent this from happening. Similar to the Heart, Aesor serves as their eternal prison, ensuring that the Nh'áhrean maintains balance and keeps them under control.   Theories also suggest that the Aeos Parure serve as seeds for the elements, potentially shaping and nurturing the lands or continents influenced by their corresponding Elemental Aspects. These aspects are hidden within or beneath their own domains, such as the Water Stone in Lethassa (Four Isles Sea) for example.   As for the Heart of the Myst, the Five Elements are although marcritically connected to it somehow (since it was supposed to be their prison for an eternity) and theories suggest that the Heart indeed still contains Elemental capabilities, they are no longer one entity as they used to be. Presently, the Heart of the Myst imprisons Kyro and Arizen, and their eternal battle within, that generates the Shattered Light.

The beating Heart of Aesor

According to Balrose, he and the Paragons will never disclose the exact location of the Heart to any mortal (not that there is any proof of their knowledge). However, most academics believe that the Heart is with the Óhin, deeply buried in the core of Aesor. This seems like the most logical explanation, considering the principles of Marcry Theory, which suggest that the Óhin requires a direct connection to the source in order to effectively utilize and protect Aesor using the power of the Shattered Light. However, there are numerous scholars who dare to speculate that the Paragons and the Taleteller are only so secretive, because the obvious is indeed not the case. Regardless of these assumptions, the truth will remain unknown unless the Heart is actually discovered by someone.   The Shattered Light is the only thing sustaining Aesor, the condensed, overpowering Marcry of Radiance and Shadow locked into an eternal conflict is everything the world needs to not just protect itself, but also to care for all of its needs, to sustain life. The Shattered Light holds the most extreme importance for Aesor, which means, that the Heart of the Myst that contains the Shattered Light, both in theory and practically, is the beating heart of all life, on Aesor.
