The Ashes of the Hand is a religious cult that is responsible for nurturing the faith and religion known as the Way of the Blazing Hand. The cult's adherents are shamans, serveing under the banner of the Inheritors, the dual monarchs of the Realm of Zhor. The Ashes of the Hand have become the core to both Zhor and Volkran'dur culture, and their religion is among the most widely practiced in the Lands of Fire. At present, their primary objective revolves around the discreet dismantling and suppression of the Abbey of the Óhin, more specifically the House of the Dragon in Flames, a rival religious faction that still maintains a modest following. The Ashes has long stood the Abbey’s acclaimed false principles, and they hold the Inheritors of the past responsible for permitting the introduction of what they perceive as a rival faith.

While the Way of the Blazing Hand centers on eternal servitude to the Zhor Mountain and the fiery devastation of Aesor, the House of the Dragon in Flames opens the door to a more humane perspective.
