Coupdeath

Every year Requiems nobility has an annual summer hunt, in either the Sellsword Wilds or the Owlbear Woods. In 475, Requiem hosted the hunt in the Wilds. Queen Rosemark, her son, her daughter, and diplomats from every major guild, government, and organization were present. Lord Staunton, Lord of the Woods, enacted a coup with the help of a mercenary outfit - attempting to kill the oryal family and rise up to the throne in the succession crisis that would follow. Staunton would be stopped by the adventuring party know as Myth - a Vanguard group. 
The chaos led to the hunting grounds being abandoned, and never tore down. The remains of what were to be temporary structures still exist in the woods, often used as a landmark or meeting point for those in the Sellsword Wilds.
