Owlin

Owlin are a winged race of owl like people found throughout southern Aesteria, often in Requiem and Vanreth. They have a deep connection to the forests, and now to the cities - preferring places with height and open skies to fly. Owlin culture is a prideful one rife with traditions. Taking care of ones body and wings is a priority, with the injury or loss of ones wings seen as a disgrace to ones family.

Naming Traditions

Owlin first names are very simple words, with their last names being taken from the human culture they work closely with such as Vanreth or  Requiem.

History

Owlin are said to have fled the clutches of the Fey courts long before the Elves. Doing so left their race cursed with a dramatically lowered life expectancy, but has left the race free of their subjugation. Owlin have taken a support role throughout modern history when it comes to human endavors. It's said that any human achievement has had at least an Owlin working along side them.     Owlin have gained equal footing with humanity and the other races of Vanreth and Requiem, holding positions of power such as lordships or control of houses. Owlin helped fight in the War of the Dragon, with many of their homes in the southern reaches being attacked.
