Droqarzu (Dr-oh-car-tzu)

Droqarzu - The Sunkern Township

"It's certainly strange to see Man and Lizardfolk treat eachother respectfully. Turns out, rather than ripping eachothers throats out or launching spears at one-another, they actually have a fair-amount in common."

Population: 3,405 (45% Lizardfolk, 45% Humans, 10% Other Races)
Government: The township is ran by a small collective of elected Lizardfolk and Human, there being two functional Chiefs: Chief of Scale and a Chief of Warm-Blood.
Defense: A fairly strong natural defense of bogs and swamps makes ground-attacks easy to see, plus sets of Townsguard acting in small legions stand about 700 strong.
Commerce: Droqarzu is known for it's collectives of keepers, artifacts and relics being passed through it's halls. Most common services are avalible, along with travel arrangements.
Organisations: Worship of Eldath is highly encoruaged, yet it hosts shrines to most of the pantheon.

Harmonious Life-style.

Despite the recluse and dark nature of the Cobalt Waters, Droqarzu is a sight for sore-eyes, and a place of sanctuary amongst the harsher region. A harmonious combonation of Lizardfolk and Human allow for a clash of culture, yet an interlocked and strong bond between the two pridominant races. Because of this, the Town is a melting pot of buildings, furnishings, stock and methods.
It would not be uncommon for a Human smith to be forging blades and javelins for Lizardfolk hunting parties, or posions to be developed by Lizardfolk for Human Bounty-Hunters. The main language hosted in the Town is Common, however Draconic is also spoken and both translations fall to written signs. The two races occasionally butt-heads about choices and positions, but it's generally accepted that the Humans are the archetects, the smiths and innovators; whilst the Lizardfolk act as defense, gathering-parties, apocotharies and healers.

Primal versus. Poised.

Most peoples understanding of Lizardfolk is that they are a primal, savage group of territorial hunters and keepers of an age past. Whilst it is certainly true that Lizardfolk tribes exist within the Cobalt Waters, and across Aesteron those who inhabit Droqarzu are far more civilised.

From just shy of a century of bonding with humans, the inhabitants of Droqarzu know how commerce functions, to keep within bounds and laws, to treat guests and wear clothing. They are civilised, with understanding of Common and some even gaining experience with Spell-casting and the Arcane. Some see this treatment as inheriantly wrong, whilst others find it progressive and interesting. One thing is for certain, it is drilled into the back of the Citizenry that each-other are equals, and the mutual benefits of eachother leave the two races to get along swimmingly.

A Town of necessity

Droqarzu is a well-crafted and beautifully made town inside the Cobalt Waters. It is created with reason and is regarded as extremely useful, rather than flashy. The township stands tall on wooden stilts above murky ponds and waters. Creatures that swim, have small hatches underneath the houses and footpaths to gain easy access, whilst those who tend to stay dry have enchanted magical logs that fashion themselves into stepping-stones across the water to meet their needs. Because of this, live-stock and mounts tend to stay in stables and holding-areas on the outskirts of the Town, for a small sum. Beautiful wooden spires, houses and shops consume the large platforms and make up the bulk of the township, and everything is fairly compact and close.
