Draakfall
Darkness was upon the land in that day. The ghastly dragon Kreeyara rampaged without rest, scorching half of Midway and blighting the sea as he flew north toward some unknown goal. None stood against him; the Elanesset could not kill a Primal Force and the Starhealer Cult had slain the young host of Coren Silver Eye, ruining his rebirth. For a decade Kreeyara had no equal, driving away other dragons who opposed him and slaughtering Elanni as sport.
Yet Coren Silver Eye did not rest in death and he chose a new host, a newborn dragon named Pallius who dwelt in the northern forests in the Mist Between the Watchers. When Kreeyara made war upon the tribes of the north he rose in their defense, though young and outmatched. Fighting with courage unimaginable, as though he would never lose, Pallius leveraged his small size against the vast evil dragon, wearing him down over four months of brutal combat. The northern tribes united under his name, exhausting their mystics and supplicants with constant spellwork and harrying Kreeyara with arrows when he tried to land and rest. At last, though it cost him his life, Pallius slew Kreeyara in the air and the two fell to the ground as fire, obliterating the northern forest.
At the site of his death the northern tribes erected a monument to Pallius and swore an oath to each other. Bonded together in combat and suffering, they founded the nation of Draakfall and chose Loktak the Supplicant as their king, the warrior-cleric who clung to Pallius' mane and desperately healed his wounds on the final day of his battle. Loktak (sometimes referred to as the Burning King) ruled Draakfall for seven years before he died of complications from his wounds, for the dragonfire he suffered that day could never be fully extinguished. His son Rregren succeeded him to the throne.
