Elves
Standing proud and tall, the lythe and brutal elves are brutal to their enemies and merciful to their allies. Elves are quickly recognized for their tall stature, pointed ears, and war paints. They dwell within the forests of Aethar guarding them with zeal and righteousness. Blessed with long lives and keen eyesight they are adept hunters, learning all tricks of the trade within their lifetimes, making them exceptional at hunting down anything or anyone.
Their keen eyesight and great skill with a bow has led to a long standing tradition of rangers protecting the borders to their kingdoms and forests. Their deep knowledge of the world around them as well as their silent armies, make them adept at quickly removing any intruders who are found on their lands. Though they have a special hatred for humans and all of the atrocities they have caused the elven race, and most elves will not hesitate to strike down a human. This has granted them a reputation of brutal and killers, which they use to their advantage keeping other races away from their homelands.
Standing in much contrast to their reputation elves value life very highly. They do not wish to kill as often as they do, but they see it as a necessity to the death and destruction outsiders will bring to their lands. Their hatred of humans largely stems from their belief that they destroy the balance of life wherever they go. They also share a close bond with nature and the spirits that live within it. To elves the most sacred of life if the life that can be found within nature, it is a phenomenon that elves themselves have a hard time describing. Though it boils down to a righteous feeling of duty to protect it, swearing vengeance on those who destroy it.
When the elves arrived to Aethar from their home world of Ihre Ale'ar they qucikly began to construct themselves shelter and assess the world they found themselves in. And when their birthing civilization was just getting on its feet, they saw the hordes of humans crashing over the mountains and so began the Great Purge as most of the elven population brought to Aethar was wiped out leaving only a few hundred behind, capturing around a thousand elves to use as experiments. The elves that survived hid themselves within mists conjured up by merciful nature spirits taking pity on then elves for the bloodbath they went through. Though when the Great Human Kingdom fell apart the elves took the chance to wrestle back control of their lands, hunting every last human out of it.
