Half-Orc
Orcs only serve to be the villains in fairytales, serving as stories about the monstrous brutes that have long since vanished from the face of Aethar. Very few know not of how these monsters went extinct as it is a great point of human pride, and a point of unease among all other races. As the orcs were some of few creatures who put up a great fight against the humans during The Great Purge, to repay the orcs for all of the human lives lost they were villainized and hunted until none of them remained. Now the only remains are scattered pieces of their weaponry and ruins of their great fortress Varog Goroth, and the biggest reminder of this past are the Half-Orcs.
Half-Orcs are among the most hated and feared of races, with their imposing figures standing between 6 and 7 feet tall, they tower over most humans, with bodies seemingly built for battle they strike fear into the hearts of most who look upon them. Their green skin along with tusks remind many of their ancestors, though they are not as tall and are much more intelligent, making them great war leaders. They are made fun of by many human warriors, though the last thing any warrior would wish for would be single combat combat with a half-orc on equal terms. Known for their battle prowess and resolve strong enough to make them keep fighting, despite mortal wounds. It is also often surprising to many who bother to listen long enough to half-orcs is the wisdom they posses, being a race hunted in many places they are often forced to fight and prove their hunters right in their assumptions. Half-orcs handle emotion more extremely a trait they've inherited from their orcish side, often ending in anger towards the world and lashing out at the people around them.
The half-orcs first came to the realm during The Great purge, as some human captures were used to try to produce a warrior race with some of the cunning that the humans possessed. The result became the first half-orc War Chief Sutha, who lead the orcs to many victories, though she could not save them from the humans in the end and her death marked the downfall of the full blooded orcs. The only half-orcs that was spared the Extermination were either those who deserted and hid themselves, or those that the humans had captured to use as their own soldiers. In recent times the half-orcs only really find homes within the tribes of The Free Cities where the half-orcs often find themselves among the war parties. They are a rare sight to behold in other lands, but when they are seen they're most often found in the place where they were made for, the battlefield. Many half-orcs find themselves among mercenary work or working as soldiers serving a greater cause, hoping that the humans might finally recognize them as equals.
