Alfred Notley
Captain Alfred Johnatan Notley (a.k.a. The stagewright)
captain of the The illusive end, Alfred is a tragic figure in the pirate trade, or at least so the "stagewright" likes to portray himself. A skilled artistic genius that was forced by circumstance to become a scoundrel and pirate captain, exiled by his jealous rivals, driven to scourge the seas and employ his skill in stagecraft on the wood of the deck instead of the planking of the theatre.
But few will deny that Alfred Notely is both an expert smuggler, blockade runner and pirate. Generally relying on elaborate disguises and elaborate rouses, more often than not he has scammed merchants out of their valuables without having to rely on the cruder methods of bloodshed and extortion.
History
Like almost everything that can be traced back to Alfred, this dramatized version of events is likely greatly exaggerated if not completely a fabrication. His skill in deception and misdirection are second to none, but for a a supposedly genius stagewright there are no plays that actually carry his name as an author, or at least none of them are anywhere near famous. But few will deny that Alfred Notely is both an expert smuggler, blockade runner and pirate. Generally relying on elaborate disguises and elaborate rouses, more often than not he has scammed merchants out of their valuables without having to rely on the cruder methods of bloodshed and extortion.
