In more recent years the term archon has been widely adopted by scholars to refer to a group of individuals that suffer from a comparable curse, having almost completely replaced the much broader and unspecific term "The accursed". Despite being the subject of significant study, not much is known about the specifics of the curse or its origin. What seemingly ties the individuals together is that they each seem to be world-renowned specialists or experts, which suddenly and irrevocaly find themselves cursed one day. Another common denominator is that their behavior almost seems to become archetypical as related to their field of expertise that led to the curse in the first place. The most studied individual suffering from this affliction is the The swamp king, also known as "the traveler."
