Caravellos folley

The shipwrecked remains of the once proud yervan war fleet only retained a shred of its former glory. The vast majority of its inhabitants are survivors of the battle of Shadowright.

Government

The newly found government of Caravellos folly struggles to make ends meet. Understandably the relationship with the village and its nearest neighbor shadowright is poor. There is a shortage of nearly everything.

Industry & Trade

Fishing and foraging have sustained the population of this refugee village, albeit barely.

Guilds and Factions

Irrevians: A large portion of the irrevians either served under Hamond Leynthey and escaped Moshabar together with him, or managed to make footfall in shadowright, since the irrevians were used as expendable aquatic scouts by the yervans. However, a significant portion of the town is populated by irrevians who served on the yervan vessels in other capacities than marines.   The salted: A loose organization of rangers and druids of the coven of the tide, whose main purpose is to provide humanitarian aid to survivors of shipwrecks. Their sigil is a stylized mask with tears on its cheeks.   The bosun confederacy: After the crushing defeat at the hands of the pirates of shadowright, the lower-ranking sailors turned against their officers. Especially the officers who purchased their commission bore the brunt of this. The bosun confederacy is a by and large a meritocracy; the veteran sailors and (hence the name) bosuns took charge of ensuring the survival of the castaways.   Ashcoats: The once-proud bluecoats, a crack regiment of elite marines of the yervan marine is left broken and humbled on the shores of moshabar. They now wash their blue coats in brine water and ash, a sigil of their repentance.

History

Hubris brought down the mighty war fleet, arguably the finest military fleet of its time, and dashed its shattered remains on the beaches outside of shadowright. The confident admirals gravely underestimated both the number of enemy ships in shadowright and their military prowess and paid dearly for this grave mistake. The first part of the fleet sent into the harbor to blockade it was crushed in a relentless initial attack by the experienced pirate captains of shadowright. Infuriated for walking into this trap, the fleet admiral sent in the rest of his fleet to avenge this insult. Captain hammond leynthey advised against this but was overruled. He held back his ships though, and by this saved the remaining parts of the fleet.   After the first survivors started washing ashore, they were greeted by a traveling group of rangers and druids of the tide. These druids and rangers helped the budding outpost get on their feet.

Architecture

The buildings in this small settlement are all built salvaged parts of the shipwrecks that have washed ashore. Even if a sloop is no longer seaworthy, it works surprisingly well as improvised shelter or a roof.
