These strange devices are one of the more tantalizing technological inventions from before the Aether-storms. The individuals that have been able to repair the ancient devices and successfully implant them in the base of their necks have gained tremendous knowledge of ancient devices.
Creation
Little is known about how these devices were constructed and few of them have survived to this day and age. Repairing these delicate and intrinsic devices is about as good as one can hope to achieve with the relatively crude techniques that have survived the Aetherstorm.Usage
The often highly practical nature of the information stored in these devices shows that the forebearers had little forewarning about their impending doom. None of these devices contain any warning or indication that the aether storms had been predicted, instead the devices contain practical knowledge, most commonly regarding the usage of technological devices. Even so, implanting them and connecting them to a living host yield s a wealth of pre-aether information. Dangerous as the procedure may be, many Godseekers would do anything to get their hands on a working memory chip.
