Captain and leader of the moshabarian first, Reycard is the type of officer that songs are written about. Not for being the cleverest or the bravest, or even the most capable for that matter. Reycard can be considered middling at best in all these traits commonly associated with a good officer. No what makes reycard an exceptional officer is the uncanny ability to be at the right place at the right moment and an unwavering commitment to the men and women under his command bordering on insanity. These traits are even what landed him his current position as captain of the moshabarian first, saving the life of the alchemist Alton Kinler and having enough wealth to finance the alchemists hairebaid scheme to produce a new type of weapon.
During their stay in shadowright, the moshabarian first was the target of several direct attacks, which Reycard presumed to be targeted at them for their weaponry by the council of captains. Deciding the flee the city, heended up shipwrecked on one of the small rocky islands that make up the Shield Islands in the bay of shadowright. The disastrous escape attempt from the moshabarian first left him alone on the unhospitable shore unable to escape. His newly founded militia spread to the winds and ether in hiding, captured or dead, he had little choice but to hide and hope he could escape their faith. After being rescued by the fellowship of the desert star, his hope surged and he vowed to reunite his lieutenants.

His first encounter with the fellowship of the desert star was right after they left the exiled towers where he and the rest of the moshabarian first was searching for their patron Alton Kinler. Unbeknownst to the Moshabarian first, Alton was also a former traveling companion of the fellowship, and they agreed to join their efforts in finding the Alchemist together.
