Aethera

The mysterious continent of Aethera stretches north and south across the world. While many continents exist in our magical world, Aethera glows with a magic unknown to the arcane wizards and divine clerics who have been lucky enough to see it.   Just less than a century ago, the world powers of our world sent out colonists to this new land that they had found by chance; invisible to traditional divinations. Thousands of our own left for the new lands from all castes; princes to farmers. Upon reaching to the new land they found it to be inhabited by animalistic bipedals, and horrible monstrous creatures. Many were lost to the wilds, unable to protect themselves, but some survived and a few began to thrive. They took these native animals as slaves, built to work farms and process goods. Intelligent as they were, they were still treated like the animals that they resembled, and over the many years, they were bred and slaughtered as such. Eventually, there was a revolution for their freedom but the scars are still laid bare on their conscious.   All of this is recent knowledge to our world. Only but a few years ago had the first ship from Aethera made the journey back and regaled us with these stories. Our people thought the colonists lost; the few sunken and abandoned ships made a convincing argument. Though now that we know that this dangerous land is still being tamed, certainly there is still some to spare.
