In the deepest reaches of the Elder Forest of Elnaris, far beyond the borders of Aeloria, a small, reclusive community of elves made their home within the towering boughs of the ancient trees. Among them lived Elara Silverleaf, a young and gifted sorceress with a soul as pure as the morning dew that glistened upon the leaves. Raised by her grandmother, a wise and enigmatic figure known as the Moon Seer, Elara was steeped in the ancient traditions of her people. She was trained in the art of moonlight magic, harnessing the ethereal powers of the night to weave spells that could heal and protect. Her gift was rare, even among her kin, and it was whispered that the very essence of the moon itself had blessed her at birth.
Elara's life was one of tranquility and communion with nature, her days spent exploring the secrets of the forest and her nights spent beneath the starlit sky, dancing in the moon's pale embrace. However, her peaceful existence was shattered when a dark force swept across the realm, leaving destruction in its wake.
In the aftermath of the brutal attack on her village by the forces of darkness, Elara was left with a choice: to remain hidden, tending to the broken heart of her home, or to venture forth into the world beyond in search of a way to confront the darkness that now threatened everything she held dear. Guided by a vision from her grandmother, Elara chose the path of the warrior, determined to face the unknown and stand against the encroaching shadows. Her journey eventually led her to the resting place of a shattered soul shard, a remnant of the same powerful demon lord whose spirit had infused Veradis's cursed sword, Soulreaver. In her pursuit of the knowledge needed to confront the darkness, Elara unknowingly bound herself to the soul shard, drawn to its power by the same moonlit magic that flowed through her veins. The shard infused her with the abilities and the curse of the Dreadstalkers, transforming her into a formidable warrior against the forces of evil.
However, the soul shard's influence also came with a heavy price. The darkness within it threatened to consume her, gnawing at her very essence and testing the limits of her resolve. It was during this time of turmoil and inner conflict that Elara crossed paths with Veradis, who recognized the signs of her newfound curse.
