Aasterinian

The Swift Wing, Messenger of Avandra

Aasterinian is a dragon and former servant of the dead god Io. She served her former master as both a messenger and a spy prior to his death during the Dawn War. After Io died and was split into Bahamut and Tiamat both new gods tried to gain the allegiance of many of Io's former minions. Aasterinian would not be swayed to either god's banner and she instead left to follow her own path. Eventually, Aasterinian was noticed by the goddess Avandra, who saw a kindred spirit in the wayward dragon. The two formed a fast friendship and neither has looked back since.

Aasterinian's Role

Within the Retinue of Change Aasterinian serves as the binding member. She is the messenger and communicator between the diverse and widespread members of the pantheon. She also serves in a slightly darker role as a spy, watching her fellow exarchs to be sure they are holding true to the ethos of the Avandran faith. Aasterinian is a quick-witted and mischievous exarch who enjoys disturbing the status quo, and left to her own devices, she actively taunts lawful figures across the cosmos.

Aasterinian's Followers

Like most of Avandra's exarchs, Aasterinian has very few dedicated followers. Instead, she tends to attract momentary worship and devotion from a huge range of normal people. Anyone starting or ending a long journey, especially between systems, is likely to make an offering to a shrine of Aasterinian. Ship masters and merchants often have small shrines or symbols of the Swift Wing somewhere aboard the ship for good fortune. Spies and messengers are chief among her most loyal dedicated followers.

General Physical Condition

Before becoming an exarch Aasterinian was a brass dragon of uncommon speed and skill. Since she has ascended into the realm of the divine she can appear in virtually any form, but she still prefers her own. Other common forms are a gnomish girl with brass-colored hair, a dragonborn warrior woman, and (when she wishes to frighten or intimidate) a massive blue dragon with brass-tipped scales.
