Aeons ago great titans waged a seemingly endless conflict that threatened to tear the entire planescape apart. A war so great could only have ended one way - total annihilation of all parties. Though they all perished, their energies did not. The planes fed off of their corpses to rebuild and thrive, producing a wide variety of life and civilizations. These days the great colossi of old are naught but rumors, and the world has reached relative peace. There are forces at work that would gladly see the return of dissension, but fortunately guilds such as the Magnanimous Monsters have rose up to stop them.
