You call out to the restless undead and point to a space on the ground. Skeletal, rotting hands erupt from the earth in a 5 x 10 ft. rectangle, as though erupting from a grave. Any creature within that space when the spell is cast, or any that move into a space affected by the spell, must make a Strength or Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, any creature within the space is restrained and takes 2d6 necrotic damage. On a success, the creature is forced into an unoccupied space nearby (that is not effected by the spell) and takes 1d6 necrotic damage. If the creature cannot move to an unoccupied space nearby, it automatically fails its saving throw.

As long as the spell is active, any creatures that are restrained within the 5 x 10 ft. space continue to take damage at the start of your turn, and any creatures that move into the space are subjected to the spell’s effects.
At higher levels:
When you cast this spell at 2nd level or higher, you call on one additional 5 x 10 ft. rectangle within range for each level above 1st. The 5 x 10 ft. rectangles cannot intersect.
