Cerberus

A large, three-headed dog.

Anatomy

Cerberi are very large dogs with three heads. All three heads contain a brain, but only one is active at a time. The two dormant brains act as "backup copies" of the active brain, allowing the cerberus to survive losing one or two of its heads.
