Staerenriki

Staerenriki is the kingdom of the Svarts.

History

Staerenriki was the last country to be conquered by the Erelicia Imperium, and also the most difficult. The reason that the Imperium won was the fact that they managed to capture several cities, including the capital city, right away. They did this by building, in secret, a fleet of ships almost identical to the longships used by Staerenriki's military. Up to this point, countries other than Staerenriki virtually never used ships in war, and as such, Staerenriki's ports had almost no defenses. Additionally, in most of these cities, the garrison assumed the ships were Staerenian, only realizing their mistake when the Erelician ships got close enough for those on board to be clearly visible. By that point, organizing an effective defense was nearly impossible.
Despite this incredibly effective first strike, the Staerenians responded quickly and fiercely, actually managing to recapture two of their cities. Even with the advantage of having captured the capital, and attacking on two fronts, the Erelicians still found the Staerenian military difficult to defeat, especially since many Staerenian civilians also fought the Erelicians. Eventually, however, the Staerenians were subdued, solidifying the Imperium's hold on the continent.

Staerenriki is the only country where ships are common, and they are often used to transport goods and people between coastal cities.
