Tarasque

A tarasque is a type of Wyrm. They have a natural connection to Nature Magic, with proficiency for spells relating to stone, earth, and plants, and are powerful enough to be magical patrons. Like other Wyrms, they also have the ability to shapeshift into a humanoid form.

Anatomy

Tarasques are quadrupedal, with sharp teeth, horns, and a turtle-like shell on their backs. Their tails are long and have numerous large spikes.

Genetics and Reproduction

Tarasques reproduce sexually and are oviparous. Their incubation period is forty years.

Ecology and Habitats

Tarasques typically live in the wilderness. They most often choose a cave, typically a large one, and claim it as their own. Their magic allows them to reshape these areas with ease, and they typically do so extensively, turning their caves into something more resembling underground palaces. A few have even built entire cities. However, due to their reclusiveness, they typically camouflage the exteriors of these places, and sometimes even obstruct the entrances.

Tarasques are omnivorous.

Tarasques typically live solitary lives in the wilderness. Unlike most Wyrms, they almost never set foot in civilization, and only rarely interact with other beings, even other Wyrms.
