Aewyns Hollow

The ground is rumbling beneath us as trees in the distances seems to disappear into the ground. Citizen is confused, some screaming, some running for their lives. The very ground beneath them began sinking into the ground together with houses, trees, people and animals.
Not many survived this event, and therefore only a few remain to explain what had happened that fateful summer day when an entire city got swallowed by Aewyns Hollow.

That fateful day

The city was filled with life as always, children playing in the sun, people enjoying cold drinks at the bars, as the sun began its descent into the horizon.   After a long day of work in the fields, the citizen gathered in the town square for some end-of-day festivities. Trelvang has always been known as a place of joy and hospitality, and friendly people on every corner.   Sometime during sunset, tremors began shaking the grounds beneath their very feet. And that was all the warning they got, as the first slowly, then rapidly began sinking into the ground.   Some lucky citizens and their children at the outskirts of the city got away in time, and as they ran they looked behind them to see their loved ones, and their life being swallowed hole without mercy.

Survivors

Only a handful of lucky citizens got out onto solid ground, families torn in half and only one parent and one child got out. Within a few minutes, their entire life had been turned upside down, without them being able to do anything about it - and that is exactly what the survivors described as being the worst thing: the helplessness.   Torn, shaken, and frightened, the remaining citizens of Trelvang tried looking for more survivors around the sinkhole and counted the people: 16 people, where 9 of them were children.   They all began hiking to the nearest city to get help and support and was met with sorrow and cries. Many in the nearby cities had family in Trelvang, so when the news came, they all grieved together.

Appearence

Now, almost 40 years after the disasters occurrence, the town of Trelvang is nowhere to be found. Still charted on maps where the town used to be, is now only a giant hole in the ground.
For many, the sinkhole resembles the gaping mouth of Aewyn, and not many are brave enough to look into its deep - though even if they looked, they wouldn't see a thing.   The hole is so deep all sunlight is swallowed, allowing no light at the bottom. No one has dared to journey down there, because of the town that once stood is now a tomb for all the lives that were lost that day.   On the edges of the hole, lakes and rivers flow, and 3 of them fall straight into the deep. A beautiful sight of waterfalls creating rainbows in the morning sun. Life around the hole is like it always has been, trees, flowers and animals all roam the now quiet forest.
