Aidoneus (Ey-i-doh-nee-uhs)

Keeper of the dead and ruler of the underworld, Aidoneus is often misunderstood. Death is portrayed negatively and mortals often try to ignore it. Death is an ensured end. It’s a promise that all living creatures share, and it’s one that keeps the world from facing a disaster of overpopulace. Aidoneus believes in judging the dead fairly, though makes an exception to those who defy the promise of death--such as liches or vampires. And though death can come to one at any time, he prefers a creature to live until old age before passing. To those who worship Aidoneus and carry out his will, Aidoneus appreciates.
