Hunter

Protect Nature and People from Destruction

Joining the Hunter conclave means accepting your place as a bulwark between civilization and the terrors of the wilderness. As you walk the Hunter's path, you learn specialized techniques for fighting any kind of threat you face. It doesn't matter if it's a dragon, ogre, or horde of dire wolves, you are knowledgable on all your prey, and precise with your strikes.

Hunter's Lore

Level 3 feature   You can call on the forces of nature to reveal certain strengths and weaknesses of your prey. While a creature is marked by your Hunter's Mark spell, you have the following benefits:
  • You know whether that creature has any Immunities, Resistances, or Vulnerabilities, and how many of each.
  • You have a bonus on Tactics checks you make to identify a creature's Immunities, Resistances, or Vulnerabilities, equal to your Ranger level, and if you succeed, you choose whether to know an Immunity, Resistance, or Vulnerability it has (rather than a random one).
  • You have Advantage on Tactics checks against that creature.
Additionally, you gain Proficiency in the Martial Skill if you don't already have Proficiency in it.

Hunter's Prey

Level 3 feature   You gain one of the following feature options of your choice. Whenever you finish a Short or Long Rest, you can replace the chosen option with the other one.
  • Colossus Slayer. Your tenacity can wear down even the most resilient foes. When you hit a creature with a weapon, the weapon deals an extra 1d8 damage to the target if it’s missing any of its Hit Points. You can deal this extra damage only once per turn.
  • Horde Breaker. Once on each of your turns when you make an attack with a wepaon, you can make another attack with the same weapon against a different creature that is within 5 feet of the original target, that is within the weapon's range, and that you haven't attacked this turn.

Defensive Tactics

Level 7 feature   You gain one of the following feature options of your choice. Whenever you finish a Short or Long Rest, you can replace the chosen option with the other one.
  • Escape the Horde. Opportunity Attacks have Disadvantage against you.
  • Multiattack Defense. When a creature hits you with an Attack Roll, that creature has Disadvantage on all other Attack Rolls against you this turn.

Superior Hunter's Prey

Level 11 feature   Once per turn when you deal damage to a creature marked by your Hunter's Mark spell, you can also deal that spell's extra damage to a different creature that you can see within 30 feet of the first creature.   Additionally, if a creature is marked by your Hunter's Mark spell and you fail a Tactics check against it, you can choose to succeed instead. Once you use this benefit against a creature, you can't use it again on that creature for the next 10 minutes.

Superior Hunter's Defense

Level 15 feature   When you take damage, you can take a Reaction to give yourself Resistance to that damage and any other damage of the same type until the end of the current turn.
