Phoenix Soul
Your power draws from the immortal flame that fuels a legendary phoenix. You or your ancestors perhaps rendered a phoenix a great service, or you were born in its presence. Whatever the cause, a shard of the phoenix’s power dwells within you, which can be looked upon as a mixed blessing.
Phoenix Soul Spells
1st-level Phoenix Soul feature You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Phoenix Spells table. Each of these spells counts as a Sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of Sorcerer spells you know. Whenever you gain a Sorcerer level, you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level. The new spell must be an evocation spell that deals Fire Damage from the Cleric, Druid, Sorcerer, or Wizard Spell List.Sorcerer Level | Spells |
---|---|
1st | Burning Hands, Cure Wounds |
3rd | Continual Flame, Lesser Restoration |
5th | Fireball, Revivify |
7th | Fire Shield, Wall of Fire |
9th | Flame Strike, Greater Restoration |
Phoenix Spark
1st-level Phoenix Soul feature You possess a burning soul within you, which you can spark to manifest a mantle of bright flames. As a Bonus Action, you rekindle the spark, which burns until the start of your next turn. You regain 1d6 Hit Points, and gain the following benefits while the spark is burning:- You can use Charisma instead of Strength when calculating the distance you can jump, and you shed bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional 20 feet. This can take the appearance of something like wings of fire or a mantle of glowing feathers.
- When you roll to deal Fire Damage with a spell you cast, you can add your Charisma modifier to the result.
- You have Resistance to Fire Damage.
Rejuvenating Flames
6th-level Phoenix Soul feature When you cast a spell that deals Fire Damage to creatures, you can expend one Sorcery Point for each creature affected by the spell that you would like to protect. For each creature protected in this way, they automatically succeed any Saving Throw associated with the spell and they take no Fire Damage from it, instead regaining a number of Hit Points equal to half the Fire Damage they would have otherwise taken. Once you use this feature, you can't do so again until you finish a Short or Long Rest.Rise From The Ashes
14th-level Phoenix Soul feature When you are reduced to 0 Hit Points or as an Action on your turn, you can explode outward in a burst of fire. Each creature within 20 feet of you (not including yourself) must make a Dexterity Saving Throw. A target takes 8d6 Fire Damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. If you used this feature when you were reduced to 0 Hit Points, you are instead reduced to 1 Hit Point. If you used this feature as an Action, you can apply Rejuvenating Flames to this Fire Damage without expending Sorcery Points or a use of the feature. Once you use this feature, you can't do so again until you finish a Long Rest.Form of the Phoenix
18th-level Phoenix Soul feature You master the spark of fire that dances within you. While under the effect of your Phoenix Spark feature, you gain additional benefits:- You have a Fly Speed of 30 feet and can Hover.
- You have Resistance to all damage.
- If you use your Rise From The Ashes feature, its radius increases to 30 feet of you, and it deals an additional 2d6 Fire Damage.
