The Last Stop North

Embarking on a journey north is a dangerous thing.
As travel by the sea is impossible, the only way to get there is on foot.
Most of the land there has been warped by Colors even when the Age of War was still young.   And yet, many try to go there, some to find Honey Savior (flower), the only cure for Fading and some follow the legends describing immeasurable treasures hidden there. Some try to get there for reasons only known to themselves.
No matter their goal, all of them have to go through the Last Stop North, a small settlement located on the narrow land bridge leading to the northern part of the continent.

A speck of normalcy

Amongst the land suffering from Oversaturation (geographic anomaly), there is a small oasis, a place where Colors are almost at the normal levels. Some time ago, people who gave up on traveling farther north gave up and settled there. As they couldn't get any food from the land that was altered, surviving in these lands has been very hard. With limited space for animals and farmlands, the settlement had to survive mostly on fishing.

Government

There's not really any government here, but any ideas have to go through the elders, 3 oldest inhabitants of the Last Stop.

Defences

The folk here are hardened. Both by their journey and many fights with beasts warped by the Colors. Anyone who wants to reach adulthood needs to know how to fight or create anything that can scare off the predators.
The scouts here have to keep the watch both day and night as any stranger approaching needs to be lead by them through the minefield surrounding the Last Stop.

Industry & Trade

Freshwater, food and rest, a possibility to fix one's gear, that's what is offered here. Thanks to the existence of the Last Stop, the chance to survive the farther journey is slightly larger. Anything that comes from south is welcome here as a payment, especially food and weapons.

Gray coats

Even though wearing mostly gray for a long time can affect one's mind negatively, many of those who live here are ready to risk that. Wearing clothes like that reduces the chance of contracting Oversaturation (condition) and lets fishermen sail a little farther from the coast.   There are one or two inhabitants of Last Stop who, besides wearing those coats, wear gray masks covering their faces. Those two serve as the guides to the lands located north from here. Their prices are high, but traveling with them can almost give one hope to survive the journey.

Infrastructure

The houses of the settlement are made out of anything the inhabitants could get their hands on. Wood, stone, dirt and even anything that sea brings were used to build both them and walls here.
