Warrior Tribes of Terrivar Plains

Far to the north, just below the extensive lands warped by Colors, there was a land called Terrivar Plains. It was home of five Beteclaw tribes, known for their Warrior Kings that ruled them and their strength in battle.
Even though they often fought each other for land or resources, whenever someone tried to invade the plains, they would band together to scare off their common foe. At those times, they were a force to be reckoned with. Now, after the Age of War has ended and a few centuries have passed, they don't exist anymore, their land warped like everything to the north. Only fragments of the records have been recovered, and some artifacts of the past. One could probably count those who still have the blood of the tribesmen flowing inside them and know about their legacy.

Five tribes

Shield-bearers

Known for their ornate pavises, once they set their shields in the ground, shield-bearers never made a step back. Instead, they slowly moved forward towards their enemy until their spears, maces, and swords were in the range, even if it took them days. It's not sure how true the records about them are, but according to them shield-bearers traveled, slept, ate, worked and married with their shields near them.

Scaleskins

To this day, many pieces of armor forged by this tribe have preserved. For some reason, anything that would hurt them or their wearer seems to bend a little outside before the hit, lessening the impact.
Scaleskins would teach their young to swim and climb in that armor so later they could enter the battlefield almost unburdened.

Spearshots

The best marksmen of the five tribes, spearshots intercepted long-range spears from the south and over years perfected both their creation and their skills.
They would test if a child is ready to be considered an adult by ordering them to hunt an escaping prey while blindfolded.

Color-weavers

According to some of the records, some members of this tribe wielded sticks or staves that would let them manipulate the Colors. Ancient texts speak of a metal that was used as the core of the staff, but as the entire area of Terrivar Plains has been completely warped (with the ground underneath it), it is unknown what was said metal and if it exists anywhere else.
Almost nothing else is known about this tribe, but they would probably use their magic to weaken foes and strengthen their allies.

Far-eyes

The most peaceful of the tribes, they spent most of their time on hunting and looking for the sign of any intruder. They developed some technologies that would let them see farther than one's eyes could see. One of their inventions used the Color Blue to bend the light so they could see beyond the horizon.
Thanks to this, they were always prepared for their enemies, creating traps in their way.

Warpaint

In case of the incoming battle, members of each of the tribe would paint their faces with various symbols and colors that would let their allies and enemies know which tribe they belong to. Avoiding to do so or painting symbols that would confuse other tribesmen, be they friends or foes, was severely punished, as it showed lack of respect towards the traditions.

Warrior Kings

Rulers of each of the tribe, Warrior Kings were respected even by their enemies. They were the ones who could announce peace to fight invaders. Their words were the law, so anyone who disturbed the time of peace was killed as a traitor.
They took part in the battles of their tribes, often standing on the frontlines and leading the charge.
New king could be chosen only after the old one has passed away. That's when the Games took place. Each tribe had different types of competitions that would be arranged to pick the warrior that has all of the traits needed to be considered a new Warrior King.

End that came without a warning

Historians aren't really sure what caused the five tribes to fall apart, spreading their members across the continent.
There are a few theories, and most of them are based on the events described in the Tale of the Accursed Warrior King.
It's possible that after the pyrrhic victory against one Witch and loss of the Old Warrior King, the tribes tried to merge to prepare themselves if any other Witch visited those lands, but due to infighting, they fell apart.
According to others, the current, warped state of the Terrivar Plains would suggest that the land indeed was visited by more Witches and the only members of the tribes that survived were the ones who managed to escape in advance.

I would really like a character that was a member of one of these tribes. They seem totally boss.
