Unidentified Insectoid Species - Udemaath

Basic Information

Anatomy

Fierce hunters, these long, multi-legged creatures resemble a cross between a centipede and a praying mantis.

Biological Traits

A highly toxic venom coats their bladed, long front claws, which they use to immobilize their prey. The hunters are four-meter-long insectoids with hundreds of flexible body segments that propel them through the soft mud and water of the swamp effortlessly. Larvae resemble the mature hunters but are considerably smaller and have less distinctive features. The queen seems to grows to six or seven meters in length and has the same colouration as her spawn.

Ecology and Habitats

The creatures make their home in the swamps of Udemaath.

Behaviour

These creatures seem hostile to any intrusion near their nests.

Additional Information

Social Structure

The creatures have a very rudimentary intelligence, and nests seem to be composed of small groups of hunters who protect a queen. The particular nest discovered by the squad had four hunters along with a queen and four larvae.
