Donovan's shoulders and arms are slightly more toned than his legs though it is not obvious at just a glance. He has several scars though most of them are on his back while the most recent ones are arrow shaped on his chest.

Donovan has freckles, wavy auburn hair, a goatee, and a hairstyle that makes his head look like a crescent moon if you look at it from the side.

Education

Donovan was home-schooled by father like the rest of his siblings and learned how to tinker from his father as well as how to search for answers. He gained his military training when he signed up for the City Watch of Carreen, but gained a rudimentary sense of magic after he was freed from prison and studied on his own.

Employment

Donovan joined the City Watch of Carreen at twenty and served for five years until he was taken in for murder. After being freed, he is now indentured to Carreen for a time as he acts out community service.

Solved several strings of disappearances in Carreen, Graduated from training in the top 15% of his class, Killed the cultist that slayed his family, Assisted Luke and Banon in cleaning out the crypts below their church

Mental Trauma

Suffers from PTSD after witnessing his family butchered and at times hears his Father's last words "Donovan, Donovan help me!" When in a stressful situation, Donovan emotionally shut down and default to a more militaristic attitude.

Intellectual Characteristics

Donovan process of thought is to gain information first before implementing trial an error. Like a tinkerer or engineer, he attempts to use all methods and objects to achieve his goal, improve upon them if necessary, and actively searches for information he feels is relevant and does not know.

Morality & Philosophy

Donovan believes that the world is not defined by a mass of people and it is instead defined by the individuals. In this thinking, he does not blame the soliders or thinkers of a corrupt society. He seeks to weed out those that would do harm and he has a special distrust for mages. Magic is a dangerous force that can do more harm than it can good if not monitered or regulated. At this, he seeks to kill evil mages with extreme prejudice yet he can laugh and joke with children as if they were his own. Death is reserved for the worst. Let the Devils and Celestials sort them out.

Religious Views

Donovan doesn't put any faith in the gods.Thinking back to his sister Edith, who was a devout follower of Tyr, he feels betrayed by the gods as they allowed the monstrous murder of his family and enabled the cultist that committed the crime to do it. He will not condemn other people for their faith in the gods but if pressured to adopt one of them he will flatly refuse. Others, as he sees it, are luckier than he and if they gods favor go there way then all the better for them. He still carries his old symbol of Tyr though buried deep within his back pack. In terms of the more malign gods, he has no sympathy and believes their followers needing to be eradicated if they get in his sights.

Social Aptitude

Donovan works best during short interactions and pleasantries. He is most comfortable with small conversations that do not go too deeply into his past or touches on intimacy. Usually he has a very polite yet distant behavior when speaking and is more of a listener, speaking only when needed. He is more comfortable talking with people within the military and the common folk, political conversation isn't his cup of tea.

Mannerisms

Donovan will always have Sunder and his armor on, but as a result he is less inclined to relax. He is perpetually in this state of seriousness and as a result his rare breaks of humor are mostly awkward. He has proper table etiquette and even to strangers he keeps his head held high while addressing them as Ms./Mr./Mrs. When looking up at people he does not stretch his neck to observe them but slightly raises his head, which goes back to him always wanting to maintain eye contact with someone. Most of his expressiveness comes from his eyes.

Hobbies & Pets

Donovan had no pets personally though he did look after his brother Barnabus' little zoo of cats, dogs, rats, etc. His hobbies mostly revolved around his siblings. He would go explore the mysterious areas of Carreen with Adrien, looked after Barnabus' pets as if they were his own, performed shows with Coretta at taverns, helped clean the temples of gods while his sister Edith prayed, and even collected ingredients for the silly potions of his brother Fiscel. With his family gone his "hobbies" are reading mostly, training, and tinkering from time to time when an idea hits him.

Speech

Donovan has a fluctuating Irish/British/Australian accent. H's are silent, usually ends sentences with mate, love, or calling people lad/lass. He also doesn't say holding or doing but instead drops the g. When thinking or excited, his speech becomes more heavily Irish and thus does not deliver all syllables of the words he says as if he tries to let out all of his ideas before he forgets them. When more serious, he is most slower in speech. Each word like a stone in his thoughts and the weight of it isn't in the emotional tone but the emphasis.
