Overview
The Tallarits are a sentient species from an area of space within the sol sector once known as the local bubble.
The Tallarits are much older than humanity but where not as successful. When Humanity met the Tallarits; diplomacy and trading was almost immediate. Humanity and the Tallarits would have a long history of partnership with only a few rough patches intermixed.
But sadly, the Tallarits would ultimately betrayed humanity During the Age of Strife. Its largley believed the Tallarits nature of material possessions one out over there long lasting friendship between the two species.

Appearance

The Tallarits are an intelligent xenos species native to the Sol Sector (formerly known as the Local Bubble). Short and stout, with a pig like face boar-like face, an average Tallarits male slouches at a height of 1.3 meters tall while the females stand a bit taller and larger at 1.4 meters. Most are covered in thick hair but do to environmental reasons they may lose all of it. A wide array of different tusk and teeth shapes are common for males and females.
Humans and other species have a hard time telling apart what sex a tallarit is on. Both genders are visually very similar.
The clearest indication of the genders is their role and position in their society. The Tallarits are largely a matriarchal society, once a female has had a liter of babies the mother become much larger and stronger than their male counterparts.

Behavior

Tallarits are a sentient xenoes species with similar intelligence to that of Humans.
However, unlike humanity, tallarits are much more stubbornly focused on singular tasks leading to direct and simple problem-solving solutions. Unable to think “outside the box”; most individuals solve issues by repeated direct actions until a task is complete.
This has led the tallarits on an individual and societal level to not take forward problem solving issues such as academic learning as a value leading to slow and sometime regressive skills and technological stagnation. Choosing to learn from working alongside elders in somewhat unorthodox and perhaps dangerous settings.

Communication

Tallarits communicate vocally with hand and body gestures. The vocal sounds often seem like guttural grunts and muttering to humans.

Tallarits is broken up into many diverent and diverse societies and cultural group but have many key principles that largely can be contributed to the entire species. These are : -

Diet

Tallarits are voracious omnivores; infamous for eating just about anything. In reality, tallarits are big eaters and lovers of fine foods. Its just that the better food stuff are less affordable to the masses. So much of the diets of a normal tallarit is made

Enviroment / habitat

Tallarits are an highly adaptable species. Able to live in many different habitats and biomes as long as enough oxygen is present. But due to their technological adaptability; they can live in all sorts of otherwise dangous and deadly enviroment. Unlike Humanity, who chooses to terraform its living spaces, tallarits are more then fin living in hazardous / sub-optimal living spaces as long as a short list of accommodation are met. The core accommodation to all tallarit living spaces are; breathable air, food, safe sleeping dens. With that, tallarits are able to make do and live while they work on whatever they are doing.

Life Scan

Life span, tallarits typically live short lives, about 30 to 50 Earth years. With augmentation and medication, that can be expanded to 100 years or more.

Brief Summary of the faction:

much like humanity, the Tallarits do not have a unified federal government. Instead, there are a unknow amount of factions formed mainly by familiar grouping and business interests operative as government or guilds withing large factions.

Much of the Tallarits are believed to live and operate within the Solar Segmentum, with the Sol Sector being their home sector. Its unclear how far they expanded through the galaxy but by the time of the Horus Heresy the Imperium believed the Tallarits were extinct.

Tallarits Home World
The home world of the Tallarits is a old, barren and muddy planet. The planet having been pillaged of all resources; from mineral, planet and water, all have been extracted. All that is left is a flat muddy world with the odd large mount or obelisk of stone. Underneath its surface, however, lies a vast labyrinth of vaults full of treasure from all over the galaxy. Each vaulty is own by a clan or guild and is considered a sacred place to the Tallarits. That doesn’t stop rival groups from trying to steal from one another. So the world is heavily fortified and secured by agreed upon third parties.
Humanity has designated the Tallarit home world as “Tallarit 1”. This is do to the fact that the world is a lone planet, orbiting its singular star. According to Tallarits own history, the solar system was not dissimilar to sol before the tallarits gained space travel. But over the tens of thousands of years the Tallarits plundered and demolished there neighboring planets to a envern greater extent of their home world. Leaving nothing left but their home world floating in the void.

Each entity had a different form of governance. Do to Tallarit culture and society most of the entities were run like 20th century, earth corporations with a strong familiar tie to power.

Do to the nature of the Tallarits, not all tallarit entities were in partnership or allainces to any one faction in the same way not all tallarits were enemies to factions that other tallarits were in conflict with.
Its should be noted that by the time of the Imperium many species, Humanity included, were feed up with the Tallarits political and economic dealings and backstabbing.

History:

Evolving on a planet not unlike Earth, the tallarits negatively effected its home in the same way as humanity did. But unlike humanity and earth, the Tallarits did not attempt to change there ways and restore there home world, rather they expanded out into the galaxy.
The Tallarits are much older than humanity but where not as successful. The Tallarits spent more of there time at mineral work rather than academic pursuits. This severely slowed their technological progress and thus limited there expansion.
The species is infamous for the destruction of their occupied spaces. Raising entire solar systems in the pursuit of wealth and resources.
