Scholars and other Medical Researchers have noted that the followers of the Goddess Hesirne are usually remarkably good at either curing or avoiding the disease, but it is difficult to follow how because they must meet in hiding under the laws of Merriton.
Because of this, it is difficult to study the disease or any social repercussions of it. Thus, the origin and meaning of the name is unknown to most of the world.
