The Rat King

This jumble of rats was unfortunately tangled up by their tails, which fused so completely over the years that even a Mass Resurrection didn't free them. They're bigger than most giant rats, and most humans, always standing back to back, only barely capable of turning to face each other. It may be possible to split them up, but they're squeamish to let anyone try.
They like the name "Rat King" and are always addressed as a collective; when they have to mention their constituents, they simply call them One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, and Eight.
The Rat King demonstrates a lot of promising skills. They can move so harmoniously that some people think the resurrection wired their eight brains together. Some of them are talented magicians: each rat is capable of great feats when the other seven magically donate their strength. They have a variety of talents and knacks. But they don't seem motivated to use their new lives for anything at all.
