The Stole River

This river is a crucial vein of Ossifrey which supports dozens of villages. It comes from the southeastern mountains where Espirandine stands and it winds northwest toward the shore. The Stole meets the ocean at six different points; its earliest divergence is controlled by the Stole Fixture. A branch of the Stole also supports the city of Hibiscus, where it runs through the Fishertongue Channel.   The Stole also passes near Ithel's Gate, and therefore runs very close to its Shadowfell counterpart. Through a side channel, water is sometimes exchanged between the two rivers to control flow.

The Stole Fixture

A day's trip east from central Hibiscus, the Stole Fixture is a control structure which guides the river of the same name. It's a series of buildings and floodgates which manages the water, both its quality and its distribution between the six major branches. The fixture is a national point of pride and is well visited by travelers, even called "South Cormund" by some. Like Cormund, it's a pin which holds the world together, and a surprising number of people rely on it. Its meager staff, fewer than 10 talented operators, have become incredibly valuable to the welfare of Hibiscus.
