House Manthar
One of the noble houses of Waterdeep, House Manthar has made their fortune in exotic metals and perfumes - owning several mines in the north that provide the former. But they are much more famous for their mercenary companies and almost all of their leaders have seen plenty of combat themselves. To not have killed is unthinkable for a leader of this house.
Structure
Lord Ithnil Manthar is a talented fighter, even in his old age, and once headed the mercenary company known the Steel Stingers. His son and heir, Carn Manthar, has since taken over that role and is at least as good a fighter like his father. Ithnil's wife, Lady Churyl Manthar, is originally from the Bedine of Anauroch which explains both her beautiful bronze skin and her sometimes eccentric behaviour. It might not explain all of what makes her sometimes be seen as somewhat ruthless.
Phanar Manthar is the cousin of Ithnil but is estranged from the family after taking vows to be a priest of Oghma and moving to Silverymoon.
