Astolat the Bloodbane, Gloomslayer, Bonesmith, Archimandrate of the Ascent, Mistress of the Right-Hand Spiral and Guardian of the Fathomless Vertex
In life, Ashag Skinweaver was the high priest of the Giver of Banners, the most powerful cleric of the Legion. Her unfaltering faith in her god saw her face the wrath of her own people when the Orcs rebelled against the Dark Lords, but her dying god dragged her into The Abyss with them. There, she refused to bow down to any other, and forged her own path as the substance of the Abyss fused with her and made the orc into a Devil.
Always an outsider, she joined forces with a fellow misfit, Diyah the Silvertongued, and slew the great, primordial Loth Ixis Gloomshrouded. She then excarnated the vast carcass of the Abyssborn and used its bones to fashion the fortress stairwell of the Fathomless Vertex around the Pillar Aspiring. For taking the last unchallenged territory and opening a path to the Underhollows, Astolat and Diyah were granted the status of Archdevils and infernal arms, in Astolat's case the spear Rameth.
Astolat's form is that of a powerful, orc warrior, clad in armoured robes of elaborate design. Her skin is pale, with a reddish hue where an orc's would be green, and shot through with veins of crystal-silver yliaster which gather at her shoulders, before emerging as shimmering, bony limbs hung with shadowy wing membranes. She goes hooded, eyes hidden in shadow beneath a heavy brow and a great crown of crystal.
