Personal Correspondance from Madame Aulikki to Lady Minar

This letter was sent by Madame Aulikki of the House Vitri, one of the three noble houses of the Fey Court of Sulfur. Madame Aulikki's position within House Vitri has not always been entirely clear, but she was known for the amount of business she did with the mortal plane through Arsippar, a Hazan settlement near the border of the O'Rauven Wildlands. In particular, she is one of the first fey to begin dealing in ceslyx crystals with mortals. It is in Arsippar that she is believed to have first met Lady Minar of Sigania.
Lady Minar was the eldest child and only daughter of the then Marquis of Sigania, Poltak Manalu. Born in AE 579, she is believed to have first met Madame Aulikki in her late twenties or early thirties at one of a number of galas hosted by the Manalu family to foster better trade relations between the fey of the Wildlands and merchants of Arsippar.

Background

Lady Minar did not in fact have any knowledge of Lossoma or of any floral language. Any "brazen floral overtures" she may have supposedly made were entirely accidental, although seemingly not untrue.

My dearest Mina,
I have received your most recent letter and accompanying pressed flowers therein, and they are ever so lovely as always but never so lovely as you. I am glad to hear of your sweet mother's much improved health and do send her my best regards and well wishes.
I hope you can find it in yourself to forgive me for getting quickly to the point. I have until now restrained myself from responding directly to the floral overtures you so brazenly put forth not for doubt of your sincerity or lack of reciprocity but for uncertainty of my ability to convey the complexity of my feelings in kind, and also for fear of what should come after. Were I more mundane or you more fey, I am certain your good father would offer his countenance. We are both of meritorious families, good character, and my trade should allow me to purchase you more gardens then you would know how to fill. We could spend days in those gardens amongst the dearests and the dahlias, perhaps you could educate me on those butterfly peas you are so fond of sending.
I would not daydream any further for it would be unfair to us both. I know that the fey realms would be no place for you and we both know the nature of mundane merchant men. They will pretend to respect me so far as they can profit off of me but absolutely no further. What they want, they conquer, and what they cannot conquer, they loathe. Your father is truly a gracious and honorable man but he is an exception, not the rule. He would never yield his countenance to anything less than the best for you. You should not, either.
