Wood harvested from the Elmast is the primary industry of
Hrueset and it's two outlying settlements. Birch, Elm, Maple and Oak are plentiful in the lowland areas. With Fir, Pine, and Spruce taking over as the coniferous trees climb the mountainsides.
Game is also plentiful ranging from small Red Foxes, and Rabbits, Bobcats, and Mountain Lions, Deer, & Elk to Bears. The trees are home to multiple bird species from Cardinals, Robins, and Woodpeckers to hauntable birds such as Grouse, Quail & Pheasants. As well as hunting birds such as Owls, and Falcons.
Blackberries, Raspberries, Elderberries, Currants, Crabapples, Cranberries, Lingonberries, and various Mushrooms grow in abundance among the shade cast by the growth canopy overhead and the thick shrubbery below.
As the autumn season progresses the colors explode from various verdant greens to yellows, golds, oranges, and red-browns before disappearing under white blankets of snow. Only to again emerge as green and blooming buds of various colors when the snow melts away in spring.
