Livery Collar
A Livery collar, or chain of office is a thick chain decorative collar at least two inches wide made of cloth, and metal with a pendant affixed to the center front, worn as insignia of appointed office, or mark of fealty.
The metal is typically gold, or polished metal with inlay, or enameling. Precious stones laid in for higher tier collars and other ornamentation from brocade cloth and embroidery was also common.
