Vortesha's Wake

Vortesha's Wake was named in the wake of the great pirate captain Vortesha, who set the gold standard for piracy across the skies. Her death sent ripples against the then-ununited nation, and brought about the laws and agreements that define Vortesha's Wake today. (Also, a "wake" is both the gathering around a recently-deceased corpse, and the ripples left in the water behind a ship!)

there's a part of vortesha that is basically a floating junkyard that's run by kids who hoverskateboard around on that shit, it's called The Flotsam Drift

Blue skin, can be light or dark, heights all over the place, hair tends to be black or brown but can be anything
vorteshans are raised on almost dying constantly
Vorteshans aren't given a name at birth. Instead, they cycle through nicknames, (or simply "The Child",) until they find or do something worthy of being their name. For this reason, many Vorteshans are named after words. Vortesha herself was named after a vortex, for instance.
