Sentient Lock

One of the more unusual yet useful items to be found in The Arcanists Closet is a keyless lock designed by the proprietor, Gadon Mistweaver. The shape and size of the devices available cater to both the personal aesthetic of the purchaser and the planned use. The most common versions appear as an ordinary padlock without a keyhole or as a deadbolt. In place of keys, the sentient locks can be set to open based on one or more types of sensory input. Most patrons who purchase sentient locks use only one sensory option usually tied to a passion of theirs: troubadours using music, chefs using smell or taste, etc. Gadon recommends using at least two senses in combination for improved security. He is particularly fond of combining a tap sequence with a spoken passphrase and an odd facial expression when only one person should be able to open the lock.
