Titanwood Lumber

Harvested from the Staghorn Forest in the north of Oreron, titanwood lumber is the preferred material of woodworkers and carpenters for the production of any durable good. The natural strength and durability  of the hardwood make it ideal for building large open structures with minimal supports such as longhouses, barns, and meeting houses. Slender, intricately-carved titanwood beams provide elegance and esthetics to greathalls and mansions where large beams or stone coulmns would otherwise be required to bear the weight. The tight grain and resin of titanwood provides resistace to rot, insects, and fire allowing anything made from it to remain in service for centuries.   A single titanwood tree produces enough lumber to build a small village, outpost, or castle. I addition to the boards produced from core wood, titanwood bark, which can be up to a foot thick, is fashioned into shingles, shutters, and other forms used as outer layers providing buildings with addditional protections from the elements. The bark is also used in place of steel to make armor and shields by some of the northern militias.
