The big town is underground and has minecarts and did rails and railroads every direction
Maybe there is a secret humanoid mole race living below ground that lives among the people
They started branching out on where to dig for ores as Oddonrow had the majority ownership of the mountains and mines. So they started digging under their town and discovered the mole people there and found out that they already had an establish colony below ground but welcomed them and living below ground so long made the others sun sensitive as well
