The Cursed Isles and Its People
The Cursed Lands, before the arrival of the Nashuto in The Continent, was once known as the Twin Isles, and was known for being a continent that almost entirely consisted of a human population. It consisted of three societies: the previously mentioned Nashuto, the Martian Empire and the Valkans, then known as Valkihar Berserkers.
The Nashuto, likely due to being unable to combat the other two societies, came to the Continent first, but were unable to adapt, eventually dying out. During their time in the Continent, the Nashuto talked about the Twin Isles as though the land was cursed and dying, causing the changing of the Twin Isles to the Cursed Lands.
The Martian Empire invaded the Continent in the year 238 ADE. Some have theorised that the reason for the Martian Empire's invasion of Continent is due to the previously mentioned curse that the Nashuto talked about, due to them actually dominating much of the land in the Twin Isles. Their arrival ended up aiding in the nick name of the Cursed Lands becoming official, at least in the eyes of the natives of the Continent.
The Valkihar Berserkers invaded the Continent from the north in the year 448 ADE, taking the ancient isles where the aasimar people had once resided. Because they arrived much later, to a Continent that had been at war for the last two hundred years, the Valkans, unlike the Martian Empire, were unable to conquer land, resorting to simply raiding the northern shores. They too spoke about the death of their homeland, blaming the abuse of magic and general use of the arcane arts for this.
