The Hidden
The Hidden are the former protectors of the Emperors of Akeroth. In the First Era, however, the Hidden began as demon hunters. After The Division and the beginning of the Draconic War, the Blades took on this role again being the hidden warriors who kept all Emperors and key figures out of harm's way during the battle that ensued.
After the events of the Crisis of Control, their order began to rapidly decline. The few remnants of this once-glorious order have gone into hiding and are being hunted by the Hexers after their near-extermination by Qinun.
History
The story of The Hidden begins with the Illithid invasion during the First Era. After the Illithid forces had fought through Akeroth and reached Star Peaks, they were met by Onvyr Keltris and his forces. It is said that after hearing the Great Old One's Voice, the Illithid forces knelt and swore fealty to him, whom they called Mhorra. After pushing the Illithid back, Onvyr formed the group known as The Hidden.
The true reasons for their invasion remains a mystery, though it is mentioned that they may have been looking for a new home.
Downfall
The Crisis of Control marked the beginning of the downfall of the Hidden. With the death of many Siverain Knights and King Fredryc of Erwick, the Second Era began. With no true ruler to serve, the order fortified themselves in the House of Promise in Star Peaks. The Hidden's role as the Emperor's guards was relegated, but the Blades continued to work in secret, watching for a new ruler and guarding the Empire. The Hidden were among the first to see the growing threat of Ar-Seid. Unlike the Ruby Rebellion, the Blades were not bound to political policy and could operate freely. This earned the lasting hatred of the Eye of Ar-Seid. Though skilled and numerous, the Hidden severely underestimated the Eye of Ar-Seid. By the beginning of the Great Hexer War, every single Blades agent stationed had been detected and executed, with their severed heads being presented to the new King Althalos as an opening declaration of war. In addition to these heavy losses, the Hexer forces laid siege to the order's ancient fortress of the House of Promise, ultimately destroying it completely. In 0 ABI, the Erwick Empire and all organizations within Akeroth signed the White-Gold Treaty, ending the Great War. One of the requirements of the Treaty was the disbandment of The Hidden, thus ending the order's public face and forcing them into hiding."There are those that say the Hidden still exist around us, in hiding from the Hexers. Waiting as they have done time and time again, for the Child of Balance to return. For one to protect, for one to guide them." ―Anonymous author
