Valethar - The Spirit Dragon

Valethar was the Dragon God of Peace. Before entering the Akerothian pantheon, she was a member of the Draconic pantheon, as a deity of the good, the pure and enlightened justice (justice tempered with mercy and punishment with forgiveness). For some time, she was also a member of the Akeroth Confederation of Wizards under the name of Avalerth.   Her natural form was that of a beautiful multi-coloured dragon, said by many to be the only one of her kind. She was also the eternal wife of her husband Zurteus, The Dragon Lord.

Personal history

Valethar was a mighty dragon goddess who ruled over the realm of Akeroth in ancient times. She was the oldest and most powerful of all the Deities, and it was she who created the universe and the three Primordial who helped her shape it.   Valethar was a wise and just ruler, and she was loved and respected by all the gods and mortals who lived under her rule. However, not everyone was happy with the way things were.   Zurteus, Valethar's husband, was a god who was consumed by a desire for power. He yearned to be the most powerful being in the universe, and he grew jealous of Valethar's position as the ruler of Akeroth.   Zurteus plotted to gain power from the beings in Akeroth, seeking to overthrow her and take her place as the ruler of the universe. She however loved her husband and turned her eye to Sifor's plan to split Zurteus into 5 dragons. She regrets this decision to this day but was when he was restored she vowed to love him forever more and never betray him again.   She spent some time in Akeroth as a human wizard named Avalerth, she was known for her incredible power and wisdom. She was a master of magic, and she used her skills to protect and defend the people of her realm.   Avalerth was born into a world of conflict and strife, and she quickly proved herself to be a formidable force on the battlefield. She fought bravely against her enemies, using her magic to strike down those who threatened her people.   Avalerth quickly realised that her existence within Akeroth was disturbing the world in ways she did not intend and so she transformed back into the dragon goddess, Valethar.    Despite her godly status, Valethar never forgot her time as a human wizard. She remembered the struggles and hardships of mortal life, and she always sought to protect and defend the people of her realm.   In the end, Valethar's reign as a dragon goddess was long and peaceful, and she is remembered to this day as one of the greatest and most powerful of all the gods.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Valethar disdained combat and preferred to talk with her opponents and convince them to surrender using her legendary diplomatic skills. Valethar spoke many languages, including Draconic, Celestial, Auran, and Common, although she had the ability to talk to any intelligent creature thanks to her ever-present, receptive form of telepathy. Despite her aversion to battle, she was easily capable of defending herself.    Along with all the standard powers and godly senses of a deity of her rank, as well as the natural abilities of an ancient dragon, those who saw her fight claimed that she had two breath weapons, one a powerful cone of cold, the other a vapor that turned her enemies into gaseous forms. A third special attack was her roar, which was so powerful that it could disintegrate creatures or objects within 100 feet (30 meters).    If facing off against more powerful creatures, their roar would still permanently deafen those who weren't turned to dust. She was also capable of breathing the holy winds of The Zenith, which allowed her to heal her allies and even resurrect her fallen comrades. On top of that, she was more powerful than any mortal dragon and was also reputed to know every arcane and divine spell. Few things in the mortal world could cause her lasting harm.   Also, Valethar had the ability to see invisible beings and objects and to breathe underwater indefinitely. Likewise, she could freely use her breath weapons or cast spells underwater.
