Akos

The sky was pink when the first ghost rose from the sands. At first the specters were barely visable, they seemed to flicker in and out of sight much like a candle in the wind. The phantoms seemed to be dancing just beyond my line of sight. "Put the lights out!" I heard the captian command as members of their crew snuffed out each and every candle on the ship until the only light I could see were the first stars rising into view.    The spirts became more visable, each one glowing some sort of vibrant color from ghostly green and neon blue to a firey orange and raging red. It was then I noticed that all of phantoms were not people but sea creatures. I stood in awe and must have looked very much like the fish that swam or rather flew before me, with my mouth slack jawed and opened. "First time?" I choked, I sat there dumb founded and spun my head to look at the captain. I haden't heard them come up. I stiffled a flinch as the captian slamed her large hand into my back.    "Ha!" chortled the captain her eyes were turned to look at the ocean life that flew before us. "I knew it!" Just then a large dragon like creature rose from small canyon, flapping its once fins now wings to carry it across the ship. My eyes followed the creature and I craned my neck as it weaved its way among the stars. "I can always tell. I've seen sights like these every night but they always take my breath away."   I stuggled to find the words. My mouth was filled with dust from hanging open for so long. "I... I just didn't think it was real."   "Ha, this is as real as you and me." the captain expressed, their mouth smiled. They slamed their hand on my back hard and I lurched forward "Come on ,we have work to be done, I'm ain't running a tourest ship." They started to walk back up to the wheel of the ship.   "Then what are we doing?" I inquired, my head cocked slightly "If we aren't taking people out to look at this?" I gestured to the scene around me.   "Ha, this? These sea beast come out every night." They put their hand on the wheel of the ship and laughed once again, this time a deep belly laugh. "Didn't you read the wanted add? Anyone can take a group of guppies out and show them this light show. We're after something far greater, we're after a shooting star!"
