Dwarven Stonesingers

Traditional Dwarven Order dating back to ancient times of the Dwarves with their founder Snorri Stonesinger. It is said that some of the greatest heroes of the Ancient Dwarves were stonesingers, though many of the details of these individuals have been lost to time. More of a secular organization focusing more on the cultural traditions, value and civilization of the Dwarves rather than religious, but religious adaptations of Stonesingers are certainly not unheard of. In some cases Stonesingers are also priests and members of the clergy. Though they usually dwell within Dwarven cities and communities practicing their craft, shaping the earth and providing various services to the Dwarven population it is also not unheard of to see more rural and druidic Stonesingers organizations out in the world in all sorts of places.

They are magic users of a variety of power levels and quite similar to more stereotypical mage schools, arcane orders, druidic circle and the like. It is said that their power derives from mastering the material world around them through channeling magic through the world and fusing it with the arcane weave or divine fulcrum. The way these powers tend to manifest is through a deep, throaty singing in the Dwarven or Terran tongue as they channel their powers. The more powerful adherents of Stonesinging will eventually have their bodies take on more and more physical aspects of their particular specialization with skin taking on a stonelike texture and become just as hard as a result where as others may practice their entire lives and be no slouches in power, but take on no specific physical characteristics.

Being Dwarves however the Stonesingers are efficient and practical and seek to use their powers to aid the Dwarven people however they can. This often involves aiding in mining, farming, wars and the crafting of all sorts. They are one of the more well known Dwarven organizations due to their propensity to travel as they head their Stonecallings. The order is not especially populous, but the members it does possess tend to be quite active and rarely at rest.
