Around Snowfals, Frulam Mondath heads a cell that is working to recover the Forge of Spells in order to unify the 6 Vestiges of Darkness that will be used to be able bring back Aurgloroasa, the Sibilant Shade, and create magic items to offer to dragons, build alliances with local dragons (either one of the young dragons who are present will do, and acquire the riches necessary to offer as a hoard to Frostwraith is her lieutenant, and has been in charge of protecting the dragon eggs and building up the ranks through wyrm-eating rituals.

Mythology & Lore

"And naught will be left save shattered thrones with no rulers. But the dead dragons shall rule the world entire, and...."

Divine Origins

The finding of the sacred text leads to the birth of the cult ~3000 years ago. This text prophecies the world ruled by dracoliches (at least in the interpretation of the wizard Ardeshir who found it. It also lays out rudimentary rituals for how to create dragons and dracoliches. Incomplete recipes that Ardeshir uses to remake the world unto dracoliches. As the dead have no need of sun, the Keepers secretly worked to empower Dendar the night serpent that she may swallow the sun.   Ardeshir was a powerful elven mage that served the Parsan empire. He was expelled after he found and preached his misinterpreted prophecy as his faith was antithetical to the Parsan belief that Ahura Mazda rules all and good is destined to rule over evil.

Cosmological Views

Dragons are superior beings that are destined to rule all of Vavantes. But in order to do so they must be transformed into dracoliches. All beings are to be transformed into dragons or the servants of dragons.

Tenets of Faith

"We all serve the wrym." "Transformation may be willing of unwilling but is inevitable." "In the cold stillness of eternal night, we shall rule."

Worship

Rituals: Dragon eggs are large 3ft. tall, and weigh 150 lbs. Within are roughly 100 larval wyrms that compete over gestation to become the wyrmling that is finally hatched. The Keepers have created a process for utilizing these eggs to transform other beings. There are 3 main ways of utlizing the wyrms. 1. unwilling hosts can have the wyrm depostied on their face - it will wriggle into the corner of the eye and then transform in the body and burst forth from the chest cavity as kobold or other creature.  2. A willing creature can "take the wyrm." Cultists contend to be the ones honored to take the wyrm - this is the path of true transformation.  The wyrm takes hold in the body and transforms the individual over the course of several days. This is how half-dragons, drakes, and other creatures are created. 3. Birth - a humanoid can implant a wyrm in the womb and give birth to dragonspawn - this is how dragonborn are created.  All three paths are aided by magics yet still usually result in death. It is through this process of culling that the army of the dracoliches will be born.

Priesthood

Ruled by cult leaders who have gotten to their posts through fanaticism and strength to carry the wyrm. The higher ranks of the cult, in ascending order, are dragonclaw, dragonwing, dragonfang, dragonsoul, and wyrmspeaker. There are only five wyrmspeakers, one per color of chromatic dragon. The current wyrmspeakers are Severin (red), Galvan (blue), Parizad (green), Impesh Yrrinn  (black), and Varram (white).

Sects

There is a main sect that focusses on chromatics and winning their favor that they may be willing to undergo transformation in to dracolich. This sect is obsessed with transformation. Rituals are bound up with transformation and "taking the wyrm."   A splinter sect emerged that learned the rituals of transformation but sought to use them breed spawn of metallics and create a countering army of good aligned subservients to fight the Keepers. They seek to protect the weak and ostracized creations that come from the transformation rituals. They also secretly work to acquire eggs of good dragons and use them for ritual but few have been forthcoming, as most metallics think the rituals are abominations.   Gem dragons stay out of it. Metallics actively oppose the Keepers. Some chromatics see the Keepers as serving an abomination.
