Caderyn, Lord of Iron

Born a thousand years ago back when Eodon was a battlefield between the dwarves and the elves, Caderyn was the Dwarf Prince of the time. He served as his father's right hand and was in charge of both the creation of weaponry and the guidance of where that weaponry was sent. His father, King Vortigern, was a terror both on and off the battlefield and many elves still cringe at the sound of his name. In the year of 8130, the King Vortigern and his son crafted a plan of attack that was sure of bringing the war to a bloody end. During the summer, a battle occurred in The Virescent Wilderness that has gone down as the bloodiest battle to ever befall Alara. Both dwarves and elves suffered heavily during this battle. Caderyn was wiser than his father and called for their people to pull back but his father was too blinded by his bloodlust and demanded his armies hold. Sensing the weakness in the dwarven army, the elves easily broke through and King Vortigern was beheaded by a powerful elven mage. Caderyn saw his father fall and was able to pull his people back, now the King himself. The story goes that Caderyn was transported to another realm where he was tested by the gods and judged if he could stop the war from swallowing his people. Many tasks were put before the dwarf and while he succeeded in some, he did fail in others but he never gave up. The determination and the passion of this dwarf inspired the gods to bestow upon him a portion of their power, to not only end the war but to give him the wisdom that would one day help bring about a unity that has lasted to this day. When Caderyn died of old age 200 years later, he was rewarded by those he had impressed so long ago and was made into a minor deity.   The Lord of Iron teaches the ideals of peace, balance, and strength. Although many clerics follow the path of war in this deity's name, they understand that war is a part of nature. The thing to remember is to not only have war but have a balance of both war and peace. The Lord of Iron teaches to let the natural cycles of the universe guide those who he gives power to.
