The Burning Rose

History: The Burning Rose started gaining notoriety about 6 months ago when they started holding their peaceful protests of the war with the Feywild. Free Speech is legal under the law of the Caittomar but many of the wealthy aristocrats who were greatly benefiting from both the production and sale of lumber as well as those who benefitted from war have many corrupt guards under their employ so the protesters started being arrested and thrown in jail. When this kept happening, the Burning Rose realized how difficult their mission was going to be and they started becoming rebels instead of protesters. Over the past 4 months, they’ve been slowly gaining allies and destroying the factories of lumber.     Tenets:     The Burning Rose used to believe in non-violent protest. When that wasn’t getting them anywhere other than in jail, they started changing to non-lethal destruction of property. The rebels believe in not killing anyone because the guards and the soldiers who are defending those corrupt are their same neighbors. They are the sons and daughters, mothers and fathers of the people that the rebels are trying to sway to their cause. It’s hard to make a person believe in your cause when you’re the reason their son is dead. Despite their best efforts though at following this, accidents happen. There have been two incidents so far of people getting hurt and one person dying. The government and lords have weaponized this against the rebels, calling them terrorists.     Composition:     The group currently holds about 500 strong. Not everyone joined for the same reason but because of similar connected reasons. Some want to see the high lords and ladies ripped off of their high horses. Some have experienced the horror of war and don’t want to ever see it again. Others still have a connection to nature and the Fey wild and don’t want to see it burn. Very few members are fey because fey are treated very harshly within this town and because of the war, no fey has a good reason to go there. A few though keep to the shadows to help stop the war against their people and world.     There are 5 locations around the city of Santalejos where the rebels have bases of operation. All of these locations are either owned or supported by Chrozik and all the people of the Burning Rose are split up pretty evenly between them.     The Stormy Eagle: A Tavern/Inn run by a nonbinary Goblin named Jarg. They fully support the cause. It’s just kind luck that they’re also paid for their basement.   Tradesmen Bazaar: Located underneath the tradesmen bazaar, the largest location on the Burning Rose is hidden behind the fish market and down a set of stairs. Leader of this area is Szoltzi.     Notable Members:     Shevaiss: Non-binary Svirfneblin Rogue (Grew up as a street rat. Wants to see the hierarchy burn)   Bigby: Female Satyr Sorcerer (Family killed by Santalejos soldiers)   Szoltzi: Trans-fem Yuan-Ti Monk (Previous guard of the Santalejos Police Force)   Evren: Male Earth Genasi Wizard (Evocation) (A follower of Mystra, they are doing what’s right by blowing up bad people)   Sariele: Female Winter Eladrin Paladin (Oath of Crown Paladin in service to the Unseelie Court)
